In the end everything turned out differently! I'm writing these lines from home, though my back wasn't the reason for my early return.
<br><br> 
I fell ill,shortly before the long awaited holidays, and had to go to the hospital with severe headaches, high fever and vomiting.
 I spent two nights there and in a CT that was being done on our request, they fond a mild brain edema (swelling of the brain).
 It was possibly caused by a viral meningitis. It's not too bad because it goes away by itself, once the infection is fading away
 but at least it explains the headaches. 
 <br><br> 
 After hearing this diagnosis, I cancelled my journey on short notice because I didn't feel save travelling remote areas in this condition.
 My poor boyfriend had to unpack his luggage again and wave good-bye to our departing friends.
 I'm still exhausted from all these exertions and need a bit of rest, but otherwise I'm feeling fine again. 
 I'm very glad to be home and with my family.
